Aside from being an in-demand woodwind artist, Edgar has been a reputable woodwind repairman for the last 15 years. Edgar developed a foundation for repair by working alongside his carpenter father. His passion for repair grew from building legos; to fixing skateboards; fixing his own instruments; fixing his friend’s; and then fixing his high school’s band instruments. It was here where he was introduced to repairman, Gabriel Melendez; who would become his first sax teacher and repair mentor. While obtaining his performance degree, he began to work at Johnny Thompson Music, where he furthered his repair education. After 5 years, Edgar went on to work at Long Beach Woodwinds, where he repaired instruments for the local professionals and college professors. It was here, where he also earned a Straubinger certification. Some names he has worked for include: Rusty Higgins, Sal Lazano, Brandon Fields, Plas Johnson, Braxton Cook, Frank Fontaine, Chad Smith, Will Vargas, Ashley Jarmack, Cesar Martinez, Jason Fabus, Brett Mcdonald, Dan Kaneyuki, Brian Clancy, Jimmy Emmerzian, Jeff Ellwood, Steve Ragsdale, and Fabian Chavez.

Today, Edgar operates his own repair business under the name, EG Repairs in Los Angeles, CA.
